Translink's Hidden Treasures Competition
Hidden Treasures in association with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board
-Get the chance to win a weekend break for two, or one of 50 free travel passes for the whole of NI!
Translink has officially launched a search for Northern Ireland’s ‘Hidden Treasures’ in association with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) - and it’s time for you to get involved!
We want to venture beyond the obvious to unearth what is truly unique about Northern Ireland, and need YOU to help us dig a bit deeper to find out - whether it’s a beautiful view, a great dish, or perhaps just a place with a special meaning to you. Region by region we want to end up with a catalogue of ‘things we don’t know’ all around Northern Ireland that people can get to by bus or train- the more unusual the better. So come on…we want your suggestions!
To suggest a ‘Hidden Treasure’ in a town or village near you – simply click on this link to the Tranlink website - and fill out the entry form. Alternatively you can send your entry by post to;

Not only can you help inject some pride into your local community, but you could also be in with a chance of winning one of six weekend breaks to anywhere in NI including travel and accommodation.
To get you started, we’ve broken the types of ‘Hidden Treasures’ we’re looking for down into the following categories:
• Culture and Heritage: It could be the home of a famous poet, a castle, landmark or even a monastery.
• Beauty Spots: Simply a place you have noted for its beauty. From a ‘jaw-dropping view’ or a secluded beach to a natural landmark.
• Local Hospitality: It’s the ‘mouth-watering’ food, thirst quenching drink or even the friendly service offered by the staff.
• Activities: The weird and the wonderful things that are a ‘must do’ in your view– a breathtaking cycle path, a great spot to go fishing, the place to go sky diving– just to name a few!
• Local Business Gems: These are the local businesses that we just couldn’t live without – the butcher who always throws in a few extra sausages, the little craft shop which sells hand-made cards and even the corner shop that sells the best home baked bread.
• And anywhere else we need to know about: If there’s something somewhere that doesn’t fall into any of the above categories that you are dying to share with us then just slot it into this category.
We will post some of the most interesting suggestions here and on Translink’s website . Also take a look at 'Secret NI' on facebook where you can check out what others think is worth seeing in our beautiful six counties.
