UK and Ireland’s largest land art portrait arrives at Titanic Belfast

2 October

As part of this year's Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen's, a new sculpture, created out of sand and earth beside Titanic Belfast, will be the UK & Ireland’s largest land art portrait.

This temporary sculpture, covering 11 acres will use 30,000 pegs, 2000 tonnes of sand and 2000 tonnes of top soil in construction. It will be available for viewing by members of the public, once the Festival opens, from high up one of the adjacent buildings on specially escorted tours as well as by walking through the art itself and visitors flying in and out of George Best Belfast City Airport will be able to get a bird’s eye view of this unique portrait.
