Ulster Hall, Belfast scoops TWO Meetings Industry Marketing Awards!
Belfast`s Ulster Hall has scooped prestigious awards for marketing and for its recent restoration and refurbishment.
The Ulster Hall has won a Silver award for ‘Best Brand Marketing Campaign’ at the recent global Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) held in London, only being pipped to the gold award by the new Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine, the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards aim to raise the standards of marketing in the meetings and events industry and to recognise its marketing practitioners. The awards are open to organisations engaged in providing a product or service to the UK meetings and events industry and are adjudicated by an independent panel of meetings industry experts and leading buyers.
The Ulster Hall`s success at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards follows on from a major local award won by the contractor who undertook the £8.5 million restoration scheme. Graham Construction`s recent work on the building won the Restoration category at the 10th Construction Excellence Awards from the Construction Employers Federation.
The Construction Excellence Awards recognise the achievements of the local construction industry and the contribution that the industry makes to the Northern Ireland economy.
Councillor William Humphrey, Chairman of Belfast City Council`s Development Committee, which oversees the Ulster Hall, said:
“The restoration of the Ulster Hall was one of the most complex restoration schemes undertaken in Belfast in recent years, and it is a great complement to all concerned, both from Graham Construction and from within the council, that it was completed on time and within budget.”
“The new Ulster Hall brand - based around the iconic Mulholland Organ - was developed to reflect the ethos of the restoration programme, which has seen the Ulster Hall take on a new lease of life and become a place all the people of Belfast can enjoy - truly, a people`s place.”
Tim Husbands, Managing Director of the Ulster Hall is delighted the iconic venue has received this double recognition: this famous building has been part of the very fabric of Belfast for over a century. These prestigious awards help to demonstrate that the recent improvements to this fine old institution have equipped it to meet the challenges of the next 100 years.”
