For anyone travelling to Portrush by train our apartments are ideal, as all you have to do is hop off the train at the Dhu Varren halt across the road and you have arrived! No taxi!
For those who want an experience with a difference, leave the car behind and board the train for one of the undisputed "Great Rail Journeys" of the world. It takes you up the coast amid wonderful scenery to Derry/Londonderry.
You can also use the train to go shopping etc. in Coleraine just a stop away. No traffic to worry about!
The nearby West Strand is a blue flag beach, clean and one of the safest along tha North Coast. It is very popular with families and surfers.You can fish along the coast just across from us.
We are close to several golf courses. The nearest is a good beginners one, the 3 par Ballyreagh course. Not far beyond is the inexpensive municipal Old Portstewart 18 hole course. Lying on the other side of us barely a mile distant is the world renowned Royal Portrush Course,home of our famous "master" golfers Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke, and beside it the 18 hole Rathmore.
Turning westward from Dhu Varren, you will arrive in 5 minutes in Portstewart, and from there you can explore the coast to Benone Strand and Castlerock, or go to Magilligan and catch the ferry to take you to the Inishowen Peninsula and Donegal exploration.
All Portrush amenities are on our doorstep, including Waterworld, the Dunluce Centre, Barry's Amusements etc.
All the atractions of the"Causeway Coast" are convenient in the easterly direction including the Giants Causeway, Portballintrae, Bushmills Distillery, Carrick-a Rede Rope Bridge, Whitepark Bay, Ballintoy and Balltcastle. From there you can catch a ferry to take you to Rathlin Island for a day's exploration.
The simplest direction to find us from Portrush is "take the A2 Portstewart road and turn left just before the rail bridge" You are there!
