World Wetlands Day Walk

Portmore Lough outside Aghalee, County Antrim is one of the best examples of wetlands which are managed for the benefit of birds and wildlife in the whole of Northern Ireland.

Come along to this hidden haven to see and hear the winter wildfowl which call this place home – from whooper swans to greylag geese and tufted ducks – and mark the date of the signing of the Ramsar Convention in 1971 which called for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of our precious wetlands.

Time – 11am to 12.30pm
Price - £5/£3 for RSPB members. Children U14 go free.
