Fully modernised it is within 5 minutes walk of Strangford lough, sandy beaches and St Patricks Way. Located within the historic hamlet of Kilclief, with its Tower House Castle(open July and August)and local Church. The Cottage is 3 miles from the pretty conservation village of Strangford with its excellent hostelries and eating, renowned local butcher, organic farm shop, crafts and the famous ferry service connecting to Portaferry and The Ards Peninsula.

The nearby National Trust property of Castleward, with its new multi-purpose trails, offers extensive opportunities for walking,cycling and canoeing; bicycles and canoes plus instruction are available for hire within the estate from Clearskies Outdoor Adventure.

There is an extensive and varied range of events throughout the year including the Easter Fair (20 & 21 April 2014),Craft Fairs with renowned local craftspeople including demonstrations using wood,clay, basket weaving and jewellery (August and November 2014), Pumpkinfest (mid October 2014) as well as house tours (mid March to 31 October 2014) and a host of other themed events.

The St. Patrick's Centre and Museum in Downpatrick as well as its famous Cathedral are must sees on the St Patrick's Trail while the Mourne Mountains and Down coast spoil the visitor with choice for further walks, eating, events and just the chance to be!
