Welcome to “Bramley Apple Cottage”, “Wheat Loft Apartment”, “Gaskins Grove”, “Potters Cottage” and “Dobson’s Corner”….. Wonderful self-catering holiday cottages within the enclosed courtyard at Ballydougan Pottery.
NITB Tourism Awards 2006 & 2011 – “Highly Commended” Self-Catering Accommodation.
Winner of British Airways NITB award, Ballydougan Pottery has created self catering cottages from fine old listed stone barns within an enclosed courtyard. Many of the original features such as wooden floors and vaulted ceilings have been retained. Experience staying in a historic building at a working Pottery where you can see master craftsmen at work and where you are surrounded by beautiful hand-thrown decorative stoneware. At Ballydougan we offer a unique and special holiday where you too can “throw a pot” on the potter’s wheel and take home your own little piece of Ballydougan.
Imagine a long break with your best friends, a romantic few days with someone special, a relaxing base while you play golf or go fishing, or a homely base for a family holiday where you can set the pace of your holidays to suit yourself. Let us at Ballydougan Pottery Cottages accommodate you in comfort. The quiet rural location makes it a dream country retreat and an ideal base for exploring Northern Ireland.
“Bramley Apple Cottage” sleeps 4 persons, “Wheat Loft Apartment” (attic conversion) sleeps 2, “ Potters Cottage” sleeps 2, “Gaskins Grove” sleeps 6 (accessible for the less-able Guest) and “Dobson’s Corner” sleeps 5. Originally fine old listed stone barns (circa 1785), each has been carefully converted into modern comfortable holiday accommodation, yet while finished to the highest standard they maintain a charming traditional feel.
Each cottage is bright and spacious with a living room /kitchen. Bedrooms are furnished in a traditional style with fine oak beds, wardrobes and dressing tables complementing the white bed linen. Bathroom complete with WC, bath (exception of Gaskins Grove - disabled access and walk in shower) and over bath shower, and shaver point also offer a hairdryer and white fluffy towels.
Wheat Loft .....First Floor Only: Kitchen and Living area, double bedroom and bathroom.
And while staying with us why not take some time to watch the master craftsmen at work in the Pottery workshops where you too can take a turn on the potter’s wheel and be creative.
For those wishing for an activity based holiday, you may choose one of our pottery classes and over a weekend aspire to be a potter yourself! Why not invite a few friends to stay in one of our cottages and during the day have some fun while being creative in the pottery workshop.
Then meander around the Gift Shop or sit in the courtyard garden and enjoy a freshly made cappuccino from our Restaurant & Coffee Shop. Our staff can cater for all your needs...Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Picnics, Dinner in your own cottage after a day touring..
A perfect combination…good home cooking served on our own pottery in the comfortable surroundings of your “home away from home”.
