Just 6 miles from the mainland lies Rathlin Island. Ferries leave regularly from Ballycastle Marina for the 20 minute crossing. A paradise for walkers, nature lovers and ornithologists, the island boasts internationally important flora and fauna and is home to puffins, seals, and the largest seabird colony in Northern Ireland.
Ballycastle is right at the heart of the Causeway Coast and Glens, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The world famous Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, the castles of Kinbane and Dunluce, Bushmills Distillery and three of the nine Glens are all within 10 miles. The town is mid-way along the Causeway Coastal Route which has been included in the world's top ten most spectacular drives making it the perfect base to explore the area.
