14 August 2012

Stars of music, comedy, theatre, dance, literature and more will light up Belfast Waterfront and The Ulster Hall during the new autumn season!

The Waterfront is renowned for bringing world class showpiece events to Belfast. The stars of the world famous Moscow Ballet - La Classique will perform Swan Lake, the most popular of all ballets, set to Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous musical score and boasting stunning costumes and scenery.

From the grace and beauty of the ballet to a show that will send shivers down spines, The Circus of Horrors features ‘fang-tastic’, bizarre and dare devil circus acts performing to a live rock soundscape in the show that rocked and shocked its way to the final of last year’s Britain’s Got Talent.

Across both venues the spotlight will shine on an amazing line up of superstar talent that includes chart best sellers Norah Jones, Scissor Sisters and Keane; Country legends Kris Kristofferson and Charley Pride; folk hero Judy Collins; organ virtuoso Dame Gillian Weir; heavy metal stars W.A.S.P; local legends Stiff Little Fingers; and Rufus Wainwright, hailed by Elton John as “the greatest songwriter on the planet.” Audiences will also enjoy the unmistakable voices of The Overtones and The Priests and the amazing wall of sound produced by Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club and American soprano star Barbara Bonney are three ‘must see’ highlights of Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen’s. Ben Howard and Rizzle Kicks are already sold out.

Also waiting in the swings is the ever-popular Ireland’s Showbands - Do You Come Here often? and Best of Eurovision - Ireland’s Winners featuring Johnny Logan, Linda Martin, Dana, Niamh Kavanagh, Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan. Irish Sea Sessions showcases the talents of 14 hand-picked multi-instrumentalists and singers drawn from traditional and contemporary music backgrounds.
