Northern Ireland's New Signature Dish

As part of our lasting legacy to Northern Ireland's Year of Food and Drink 2016 Tourism Northern Ireland have worked with four of Northern Ireland’s top chefs to create three brand new locally-inspired dishes, one of which has been named as Northern Ireland’s New Signature Dish. The public was invited to vote for their favourite dish which will be served in restaurants across Northern Ireland. Voting has now closed and the big reveal of the winning dish was unveiled at St.George's Market Saturday 10 December 2017.

The Chefs
The talent chefs and creative minds behind this fantastic legacy referred to as the ‘cooking collective’, are Niall McKenna from James Street South in Belfast; Ian Orr from Browns Restaurant and Ardtara House in Derry~Londonderry; Kelan McMichael from Bull and Ram in Ballynahinch and Chris McGowan from Wine and Brine in Armagh. All three dishes will be served at all of these restaurants.

Northern Ireland's New Signature Dish is......'Born and Braised'

The four chefs hosted a demonstration of the three dishes, before revealing NI’s New Signature Dish.
