What's on in our gardens

It’s not only bees busying themselves in our gardens over the next few months, the many fun and fascinating events planned for 2014 will also keep you buzzing all year.  From garden fairs to the Apple Blossom Festival; from award winning Roses to Northern ireland's top gardening event The Garden Show Ireland at Antrim Castle Gardens, there's a rich variety of exciting, educational and fun events for young and old. 

There's something for everyone taking place in Northern Ireland's gardens from May to September.

World Wetlands Day Walk, Belfast

ortmore Lough outside Aghalee, County Antrim is one of the best examples of wetlands which are managed for the benefit of birds and wildlife in the whole of Northern Ireland.

Snowdrop Walks, Moneymore, Magherafelt

As winter melts away take a self-guided walk through Springhill's glorious display of snowdrops and enjoy a delicious tea and scone in the Servants' Hall Tea-Room.

Easter Bunny Hunt at the Ark Open Farm, Newtownards

Spring has sprung with chicks hatching, lambs skipping in the fields, new born bunnies and little calves. Come down to the farm to find the Easter Bunny and win a chocolate one of your own.

Bird Box Day, Moneymore, Magherafelt

Help rejuvenate Springhill's bird boxes. Learn how to build your own nest and make some bird feeders to take home. Watch while  staff and volunteers demonstrate how to make a bird box from scratch.

Giant Easter Bunny Hunt, Comber, Newtownards

Hop down to Castle Espie for their Easter egg-stravaganza and annual giant Easter bunny hunt with lots of events and activities across the holidays.
