What's on in our gardens

It’s not only bees busying themselves in our gardens over the next few months, the many fun and fascinating events planned for 2014 will also keep you buzzing all year.  From garden fairs to the Apple Blossom Festival; from award winning Roses to Northern ireland's top gardening event The Garden Show Ireland at Antrim Castle Gardens, there's a rich variety of exciting, educational and fun events for young and old. 

There's something for everyone taking place in Northern Ireland's gardens from May to September.

Spooky Hallowe'en Event, Newtownards

Come and join in our spooky Hallowe'en event! There will be a fancy dress competition with prizes to be won. Meet Lena the witch and visit our Creepy Crawly Loft.

Twilight Night by Fairy Light, Belfast

A magical lighting and sound spectacular for all the family culminating with a majestic finale fireworks display.  Wallace Park will once again be transformed into a magical kingdom when it hosts a very special 'Twilight Night by Fairy Light'.

Christmas Time Special, Newtownards

Santa arrives upon his sleigh at 11 am on Saturday 29 November! Come and meet him and his helpful elves and feed Rudolf and his wives, Dancer and Prancer. A visit to Santa's house for a chat and a present is a must - you can also book for a late night visit on Thursday or Friday nights throughout December.

World Wetlands Day Walk, Belfast

ortmore Lough outside Aghalee, County Antrim is one of the best examples of wetlands which are managed for the benefit of birds and wildlife in the whole of Northern Ireland.

Here Comes Santa, Comber, Newtownards

Have a magical time at Castle Espie this Christmas and meet Santa in his festive grotto.

Bird Box Day, Moneymore, Magherafelt

Help rejuvenate Springhill's bird boxes. Learn how to build your own nest and make some bird feeders to take home. Watch while  staff and volunteers demonstrate how to make a bird box from scratch.
