What's on in our gardens

It’s not only bees busying themselves in our gardens over the next few months, the many fun and fascinating events planned for 2014 will also keep you buzzing all year.  From garden fairs to the Apple Blossom Festival; from award winning Roses to Northern ireland's top gardening event The Garden Show Ireland at Antrim Castle Gardens, there's a rich variety of exciting, educational and fun events for young and old. 

There's something for everyone taking place in Northern Ireland's gardens from May to September.

Fright Night at The Jungle NI, Moneymore, Magherafelt

Fright Night is an immersive, spine-tingling Halloween adventure not for those faint of heart!  A Hellish Hayride will transport you and your party to The Jungle's cursed forest whose carnivorous depths you must summon your courage to explore.

Join Dot Blakely our resident birdwatching expert and find out more about the birds around Castle Espie. Dot will also tell you interesting facts about garden favourites such as the Robin to the more elusive but nonetheless firm favourites the Kingfisher, waders to waterfowl and all between! Included in cost of admission.

Autumn Festival at Crawfordsburn, Helens Bay, Bangor

The Autumn Festival is back with an apple theme. Celebrating all things Apple, the day will be packed with fun activities, games, stalls and competitions for the whole family.

World Wetlands Day Walk, Aghalee, Craigavon

ortmore Lough outside Aghalee, County Antrim is one of the best examples of wetlands which are managed for the benefit of birds and wildlife in the whole of Northern Ireland.

Get Outdoors Weekend - Beginners Birdwatch, Comber, Newtownards

Travel into the woodlands armed with binoculars where resident expert, Dot Blakely, will teach the basic skills of bird watching, later, set up in the Brent Hide and witness the return of the brent geese.
