What's on in our gardens

It’s not only bees busying themselves in our gardens over the next few months, the many fun and fascinating events planned for 2014 will also keep you buzzing all year.  From garden fairs to the Apple Blossom Festival; from award winning Roses to Northern ireland's top gardening event The Garden Show Ireland at Antrim Castle Gardens, there's a rich variety of exciting, educational and fun events for young and old. 

There's something for everyone taking place in Northern Ireland's gardens from May to September.


Just Some Ideas

International Bog Day and Northern Ireland Bog Snorkelling Championships, Dungannon

A family fun day of activities and entertainment celebrating the beauty of bogs and their conservation with the chance to have a go at Bog Snorkelling, which involves competitors completing two consecutive lengths of a 60 yard (55m) bog drain in the shortest time possible. Why not come along and have a go yourself!

Bark In the Park, Helens Bay, Bangor

Come and celebrate all things dog at our Bark in the Park event. Displays to watch and merchandise to buy, whether you love pure breeds or mutts. Take part in the PDSA Sponsored Dog Walk or enter the Scruffts or novelty dog show. Just say the word... Walkies!

Experience Ards - Copeland Island Boat Tour, Newtownards

Departing from picturesque Donaghadee Harbour this tour visits Copeland Island allowing time for a leisurely stroll taking in the abundant wildlife and listening to interesting stories about the many travellers this piece of water has seen over the centuries.

Experience Ards - Glorious Gardens of the Ards Peninsula, Newtownards

This tour will take you to four of the Peninsula's famous gardens - Mount Stewart, Greyabbey House, Grey Abbey Physic Garden and Donaghadee's Manor House.

Martello Tower, Limavady

A chance to see inside Martello Tower at Magilligan, one of the few intact towers left in Ireland and learn about its design history and use. There will be a display of Weaponry of the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries and a guide will illustrate how the billeted Soldiers lived.
