Belfast gears up for fashion week

Belfast Fashion Week will showcase best of the high street alongside the hottest local designers and chic boutiques next month, it has been revealed.

The award-winning festival will run from March 6th to 14th and see brands including Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Hugo Boss, French Connection, Benetton and Oxfam Vintage taking part.

Catwalk shows, fashion master classes, exciting exhibitions and design workshops will feature nightly and the Baby Grand runway shows will commence on March 9th in Victoria Square.

Hotels located around the centre of the celebrations are currently offering discounts for those planning to visit the show, with prices starting at £47.50 per person per night.

Earlier this week, writers, poets, artists and journalists began to arrive in Belfast for the city's Book Festival, which runs from February 24th to March 1st.

The celebration will feature readings and talks covering a wide range of literary genres, with Booker Prize-winning author John Banville set to open the event.
