Belfast hotel 'thriving'

24 April 2009 -

A new hotel in Belfast is reporting high occupancy levels despite the difficult economic climate.

The Park Inn, in the city centre, opened in December last year following a £26 million investment and has sold approximately 6,000 room nights so far.

Gerard Kelly, general manager at the establishment, commented that the hospitality sector is a competitive market, in which hotels must constantly deliver a high level of service to succeed and drive occupancy levels.

Belfast lord mayor Tom Hartley added: "This is further evidence that 2009 truly is a significant year for Belfast. This is an exciting time for our city and the Park Inn is an exciting addition to our portfolio of world-class hotels delivering our famous hospitality to visitors from near and far."

The Park Inn also contains the luxurious RBG Bar and Grill, which offers fine dining in a relaxing atmosphere.

Last month, The Times reported that Belfast offers a wide range of high-quality food outlets and there has never been a better time to eat in the capital.
