A time capsule has been buried in Belfast to remind future generations of the many attractions in Northern Ireland's capital city.
The ceramic capsule commemorates the reopening of the historic City Hall, which has undergone an £11 million refurbishment.
Among the objects placed in the container are front pages of recent newspapers, along with photographs of the many attractions in Northern Ireland.
In addition, a map and tour guide have been included so that those in the future can have a glimpse of which events in Northern Ireland were taking place when it was sealed.
Lord Mayor of Belfast Naomi Long was present when the time capsule was placed in the City Hall's dome and played an integral part in choosing which items were put inside the container, such as photographs of the Ulster Hall.
Meanwhile, Belfast will soon mark its 400th anniversary of becoming a city by hosting a symposium at the Ulster Hall where attendees will discuss key events in Northern Ireland's past.
