Halloween events in Northern Ireland sure to be spooky

15 October 2009 -

Family fun will be in store this Halloween as Belfast hosts a number of events in Northern Ireland.

On October 31st, the city will come alive with the Metro Monster Mash, which forms part of the celebrations for the reopening of the refurbished City Hall.

The spooky day will see free events occurring throughout the day in different areas of Belfast, including St. George's Market, City Hall and Clarendon Dock.

St. George's Market will have events between 09:00 and 15:00 GMT, including pumpkin carving, modeling, live music and a monster parade.

Meanwhile, the evening will see Clarendon Dock turned into a spooky venue with presenters from UTV and entertainer Flash Harry taking to the stage.

Lord Mayor Naomi Long said: "With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, we really are doing our best to make sure it is a memorable day in Belfast."

People looking for other Halloween events in Northern Ireland can head to Down for the 2009 Hallowtides Festival, also on October 31st, which will have a number of workshops for all the family.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19410407-ADNFCR
