Kielty comedy comes to Belfast

17 July 2009 -

Visitors to Belfast looking for comedy events in Northern Ireland will be able to catch stand up star Patrick Kielty when he returns to the capital in September.

The Grand Opera House will stage A Night in November from September 7th to 12th which will see Keilty play Kenneth McCallister, a narrow minded Irishman whose life is turned upside down by one remarkable event.

While watching a crucial Northern Ireland v Republic of Ireland football match at Windsor Park, Kenneth realises the limits of his life at home and embarks on a trip the New York where he finds acceptance and friendship and understands what it truly means to be Irish.

The hilarious play has enjoyed success in Belfast, New York, Los Angeles and London and is produced by Martin Lynch who also helmed drama Lay Up Your Ends.

The play is showing at the Grand Opera House from August 5th to 15th and tells the story of the famous 1911 Belfast Mill Girls Strike.
