Londonderry's City of Song festival ready for lift-off

17 September 2009 -

An upcoming festival is set to provide some of the finest music in Northern Ireland in Londonderry, also known as Derry.

The City of Song event will take place between September 24th and 27th and will feature a variety of music in Northern Ireland intended to celebrate the city's heritage.

Among the performers this year will be D:Ream, famous for their hit Things Can Only Get Better, along with other stars from the region.

In addition, the Tennent's Trail stage will see up-and-coming local groups attempt to make a name for themselves in front of thousands of fans.

After producing chart-topping acts such as Undertones, Joseph Locke, Phil Coulter, Peter Cunnah and Girls Aloud's Nadine Coyle, uncovering a new star this year is a distinct possibility for Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, people still have a chance to attend one of the most anticipated events in Northern Ireland's capital city on October 17th, when a rock concert takes place to celebrate the reopening of Belfast's City Hall.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19365074-ADNFCR
