Liam Neeson is making a new film which focuses on music in Northern Ireland and one band's journey to Las Vegas.
The Ballymena-born actor will star in the £9 million movie which will be directed by U2 star Bono.
He will play an ageing Irish musician who is touring Las Vegas and the film will see Neeson sing The Royal Showband classics like The Hucklebuck and I Ran All The Way Home.
Barry Devlin, a musician who was in the Irish band the Horslips, said that Neeson's character is not based on Brendan Bowyer, who fronted The Royal Showband.
"The character that Liam is playing is anything but a nice guy. In fact he's a dreadful man."
It is hoped that a Hollywood lady will join the cast list, with Eva Mendes and Penelope Cruz already having been tipped for the lead role.
Neeson recently teamed up with Cillian Murphy and Jim Broadbent for an Irish comedy to be released next year, called Perrier's Bounty.
