Nesbitt to star in military drama

James Nesbitt is set to star in three-part drama serial about the lives of soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

The actor will star alongside Stephen Graham of The Damned United and This is England fame and Warren Brown of Hollyoaks and Shameless in a story spanning the five years following the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Occupation tells the tale of three soldiers and friends following the battle for Basra, as they struggle to adapt to life back home and different forces draw them back to Iraq.

The movie was filmed on location in Northern Ireland and at The Paint Hall studio with the backing of the Northern Ireland Screen Fund.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Natalie Portman will star alongside Danny McBride and James Franco in Your Highness, which is filmed in Northern Ireland.

The movie tells the story of a lazy, arrogant prince who with his brother must complete a quest to save a kingdom and his brother's fiancee.
