A new memorial has been unveiled in Belfast, adding to the number of attractions in Northern Ireland's capital.
The memorial takes the form of a fountain and is situated in the courtyard of City Hall, which was recently the beneficiary of an £11 million refurbishment process.
At a special unveiling ceremony, Lord Mayor of Belfast Naomi Long said that the memorial is a tribute to all council employees who have died over the last 40 years and will stand as one of the more poignant attractions in Northern Ireland's capital.
"We thought that the courtyard of the City Hall was the best location for such a memorial, since most council employees enter and leave the building through the back gate," she said.
A very different kind of unveiling ceremony took place in Belfast recently, as Kabus the Sumatran tiger, the latest addition to the city's zoo, was finally showcased to the public as an example of the diverse nature in Northern Ireland.
