Northern Irish celebs support Eoghan

11 December 2008 -

X Factor contender Eoghan Quigg has garnered the support of celebrities and Northern Irish fans alike.

The finalist in the TV talent show has received messages of support from celebrities, including fellow Northern Irish resident Eamonn Holmes.

Sky News and This Morning host Holmes told the Belfast Telegraph: "Phone bills across Northern Ireland must be astronomical this Christmas. But it's brilliant to see him doing so well."

The presenter said he thinks the 16-year-old singer will have a "bright future ahead of him" whether he wins or loses in the final on Saturday night.

Christine Bleakley, host on the One Show, told everyone who is voting for her on rival reality show Strictly Come Dancing to vote for Eoghan, the newspaper reports.

She said she is "absolutely convinced" he will win and is backing him all the way.

Other celebrities who have come out in support of the pint-sized popstar are Radio Ulster and Five Live presenter Stephen Nolan, singer-songwriter Kieran Goss and Belfast model and former Big Brother contestant Orlaith McAllister.

Eoghan returned to his home town this Monday to perform a special, one-off concert for local fans in Londonderry, also known as Derry.ADNFCR-1859-ID-18924102-ADNFCR
