Ruth Lorenzo to perform in Belfast

22 December 2008 -

X Factor competitor Ruth Lorenzo will make her first live performance in Northern Ireland next month, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

The Spanish singer will take to the stage at the Flybe/Sunday Life Spirit of Northern Ireland Awards ceremony in Belfast on January 20th.

While on the reality TV show, the 26-year-old wowed crowds with renditions of Bob Dylan's Knockin' On Heaven's Door and Prince's Purple Rain and the news provider claims audiences can expect a similar selection of songs.

The awards will take place at the Ramada Hotel with tickets going on sale in the new year, the publication added.

People unfamiliar with her can expect a singer with "powerful rock chick" vocals, the news provider stated.

In other news, X Factor hopeful Eoghan Quigg was given a warn welcome back to Dungiven at the weekend as he travelled around the town in an open-top bus.

The 16-year-old, who was tipped to win the show by judge Louis Walsh, eventually finished in third place.
