The eagerly anticipated Halloween carnival in Londonderry, also known as Derry, will include a touch of the exotic after it was revealed that samba bands will be part of the spooky events in Northern Ireland.
Taking place this Saturday (October 31st), the Banks of the Foyle Halloween Carnival will see a host of creepy characters perform song and dance routines alongside the river, though a taste of Brazil is now set to heat things up with the addition of the samba specialists.
Christabel Williamson from Arts Council Northern Ireland said the carnival is a great example of how arts can bring people together for one of the biggest annual events in Northern Ireland.
"As principal funder, the Arts Council is exceptionally proud to be associated with this year's event and I would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this unique cultural experience," she explained.
Other spooky activities in Northern Ireland which will take place over the weekend include special screenings of scary films in the Tower Museum, designed to get audiences of all ages in the mood.
