Trump may bring golf course to Northern Ireland

25 November 2008 -

US property mogul Donald Trump could reconsider the destination of his luxury golf course and move the development to Northern Ireland.

The billionaire had originally planned to build the facility in Aberdeenshire in Scotland but is reported to be frustrated with the country's planning processes.

His son, Eric, who is vice president of the Trump Organisation, was apparently in Northern Ireland recently for discussions with Ian Paisley Junior about proposals to move the £1 billion development there.

A further sticking point for the businessman is the number of restrictions imposed by the Scottish authorities, which must be met before the course can be built.

Should the luxury golf course move, it would add to the long list of attractions in Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, those planning to travel in Northern Ireland to play golf can take advantage of some fantastic resorts right across the country.

According to athlonsports.com, the Giant's Causeway is one of the regions where golfers can enjoy top-class facilities, in addition to wonderful natural beauty provided by the surroundings.
