UB40 tour to kick off with music in Northern Ireland

26 October 2009 -

Legendary band UB40 are to kick off their much-anticipated UK tour in Belfast later this year.

The soul and reggae act will embark on a tour in November, with the first stop being the Odyssey Arena on the 21st, two days before the band releases its new album, the Best of Labour of Love.

Over 30 years after releasing their first hit, the group are still going strong, albeit with a different lead singer, as Ali Campbell was replaced by his brother Duncan after leaving the band in January last year.

Fellow member and brother Robin Campbell told the Press Association: "It hasn't changed that much, really. Having Duncan, who's mine and Ali's brother, enables us to keep the vocal tone that we had all along. Obviously he's not trying to be Ali but we still have that sound."

A different kind of music in Northern Ireland's capital is set to thrill audiences on November 25th, when Arctic Monkeys blast out hits from their new album Humbug, as well as a number of classic songs from their back catalogue.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19425752-ADNFCR
