Saint Patrick - History and Heritage

Saint Patrick is arguably one of the most beloved and enduring of the saints.

Given his status as the Patron Saint of Ireland, and the migration of the Irish people over generations, celebrations of his feast day (17th March) are widespread around the globe.  These encompass joyous displays of colour, traditional Irish song and dance, Irish cuisine and a fair amount of Irish wit!

Delve into Northern Ireland's strong Saint Patrick connections with sites and attractions such as the two Cathedrals in Armagh both named after the saint, and The Saint Patrick Centre and Saul Church in Downpatrick.  An idea way to explore Patrick's life and legacy is to follow the long-distance Saint Patrick's Trail driving route or Saint Patrick's Way walking route.

Year round events and exhibits make any time of the year an ideal time to visit Northern Ireland's Saint's Patrick's Country - Counties Down and Armagh.
