About

From the moment you step on our traditional working farm you will experience the joy of fresh air and wide open spaces.
You will meet your horse at our stables, saddle up and then your wild horse adventure begins. As you ride along country lanes, winding country roads and lush greenery you will be treated to panoramic views of Lough Foyle, Donegal and the North Coast.

You will feel the rhythm of the horses hooves on the country road and our host will tell you the story an original Derry Girl, Roseanne. You will pass by her old school and hear what it was like for children in the 1900’s. You will also hear of how through personal tragedy, her family lost the farm, how both world wars had a tremendous impact on her and how she moved to Derry to support her remaining family. You will experience why this scenic part of Ireland had a special place in her heart. The open landscape then changes dramatically as you enter the forest: the rich sent of pine filtering into the fresh country air. Here we will have time for a snack in the old ruins of an Irish cottage.

Martin from Foyle Trails will meet us here and take you on foot to the edge of the forest and beyond where your wild foraging experience will begin. You will leave with a better understanding of the wonders and mysteries of the natural world around. You will saddle up once more and begin your journey home.
