About

Abbey Centre is a large indoor shopping centre, just 6 miles from Belfast City Centre. Over 70 stores, under one roof, cater to your every need, including Next, Primark, Dunnes Stores and Poundland. Open until 9pm every weeknight, you can shop and dine at your leisure with free parking for up to 4 hours. Services include hospitality (Nando’s, McDonald’s, Caffe Nero and more), banking, opticians, pharmacies, medical practice, shoe repairs and locksmith.

Core centre opening hours are as follows;
Monday – Friday: 09.00-21.00
Saturday: 09.00-18.00
Sunday: 13.00-18.00

Parking at Abbey Centre is FREE for up to 4 hours, across the entire site. If you wish to park and shop for more than 4 hours, simply park in the designated Long Stay Car Park, Car Park C Level 2 & 3 and pay £1.50 per day. All car parks have dedicated Disabled and Parent and Child (up until aged 5) spaces, as well as an informative traffic management system, which allows customers to see where car parking spaces are available at peak periods.

All Abbey Centre retail units are situated at ground level, all under one roof, making them readily accessible and comfortable for all shoppers. Next and New Look extend to a 1st floor, however lift and stair facilities are available in each store.

Public Toilets and Baby Change Facilities are located at ground floor level and on the first floor of the food court where lift access is also available. Public toilets are also available within Next.

Wheelchairs/Mobility Scooters are available to borrow for your convenience, on a first come, first served basis. Abbey Centre has a free WiFi service. Abbey Centre also has a number of ATMs and public telephones. 

Abbey Centre reduces stimulus on the mall every Monday 5pm - 6pm in order to facilitate a sensory-friendly shopping hour. All Abbey Centre staff are ASD aware and happy to help should you require assistance. Abbey Centre has a dedicated Gift Card, redeemable in over 70 stores, with a 12 month validity. Purchase your Abbey Centre Gift Card at the kiosk located on the mall. Load any amount between £5 and £500.

Abbey Centre Shopping is located on Longwood Road, Newtownabbey.

From Belfast For commuters travelling from Belfast or further a field, Abbey Centre can be easily reached by following the M2 out of Belfast onto the Shore Road at Junction 2 (Greencastle exit), where the shopping centre is then signposted. Likewise, the return trip to Belfast is again a simple journey on the M5, which commuters can join only a few minutes away from the Centre.

From the North For those travelling on the M2 from the North – at Junction 2, exit onto A2 toward Greencastle/Carrickfergus and follow the sign for Newtownabbey.

Public Transport The centre is well served by public transport coming to/from all parts of the borough and from Belfast city centre and bus stops are conveniently located all around the complex. Many taxi firms also use the Centre and taxi pick-up/drop-off points are located at each entrance.
