Castlewellan Forest Park, Cypress Pond Trail

Walking Route

This walk takes in views of the Mourne Mountains from the former "Crow Road". It then follows the lakeside before reaching the secluded Cypress Pond on the return leg of the trail.

Easy forest paths


The trail is signposted from the car park with a red arrow. The initial part of the trail follows the former stagecoach route known locally as the Crow Road where striking views of the northern Mourne Mountains can be glimpsed before reaching Castlewellan Lake.
