Staffed by Down District Council's Arts Team, the venue produces a busy programme of events and exhibitions all year round as well as the annual Performing Arts Summer Scheme Schools and the Newcastle Summer Season entertainment programme.
Down Arts Centre now boasts a craft shop specialising in the best of craft both regionally and abroad. Artists include Leigh Shepherd, Diane Lyness, William WHite, Hazel Atkinson and artists from the Craft and Design Collective. Come in and collect that special gift or just a treat for yourself.

Diane joined Down Arts Centre as part of the Craft Northern Ireland's making it programme. making it is funded through Invest NI and the Arts Council Northern Ireland. The focus of making it is to enable crafts people to embark on a career and build their own business.

Location / Directions
Follow the A7 from Belfast or the A25 from Clough into Downpatrick town centre, drive straight to the T junction at the end of Market Street and turn left. Down Arts Centre is a large red brick building with a clock tower on the right hand side, on the corner of Irish and Scotch Street.
There are several paid and display car parks in the near vicinity and some on-street parking nearby.
