General information
Faughan Valley Route 1 links the City of Derry with the rural hinterland. The route utilises a traffic free section of the National Cycle Network, Route 93 alongside the River Foyle out of the city, passing by the recently installed artwork “The Third Bridge”. The route continues through Newbuildings before switching onto the quieter country roads skirting Slievekirk and passing by Bonds Glen. The return to Derry City follows the south side of the valley above the River Faughan.
