Over Drumlins and Past Lakes

Cycling Route

Leave Hillsborough by the Ballynahinch Road and follow the wall of the forest estate, pass the Comber Road on the left then take the next left, Windmill Road. Continue on this undulating road to a crossroads with the Upper Ballynahinch Road. Go straight over then take the first left and follow the Larchfield Estate wall downhill to Baileysmill. At the crossroads, take care and go straight over into River Road. At the next T junction turn right and in approx. one mile turn right into Bresagh Road. Continue past Lough Henney on the right, and at the next crossroads turn left into Lough Road. At the next T turn right and arrive at the A24. Again take care crossing over into Carricknaveagh Road. Continue to a crossroads with the B6, Saintfield Road. Turn left and take care as traffic can be quite fast on this short stretch. At the next staggered crossroads with the A24, turn right then immediately left to follow the B6. Again for this short stretch the traffic can be quite fast, so take care. In just over a half a mile, turn left into Woodvale Road and at the next T junction turn right onto Creevy Road. In a quarter of a mile keep left at a Y junction then continue for approx. 2 miles to a T junction. Look out for ‘Augh Um Tyred’ on this stretch. At the T junction turn left and then arrive at a crossroads with the A49. Turn right, be aware of fast moving traffic, and in a quarter of a mile turn left into the Lisnastream Road. In half a mile turn left onto Gardner’s Road then descend to a T junction with the B178 at Legacurry. Turn right and at the next crossroads turn right. In a few hundred yards keep left into Green Road and follow this road for approx. 1.5 miles to Ravernet. At the crossroads continue straight over and eventually reach the A1 dual carriageway. Turn left, be careful of the (generally) fast moving traffic, then take the slip road at the roundabout towards Hillsborough. Continue into Hillsborough on Lisburn Street.
