About

The Stables Groomsport - Nestled between the vibrant city of Bangor and the charming town of Donaghadee rests the serene coastal village of Groomsport, County Down. It’s here, amidst the tranquil coastal beauty, that The Stables has stood as a beloved cornerstone of our community since the 1960s. The Stables is just under 17 miles from Belfast.

Originally a bustling tearoom - The Stables in Groomsport has evolved into one of Northern Ireland’s most renowned gastro bar restaurants along the North Down coast. After a six-month refurbishment, in February 2024 the Carmichael family were thrilled to reopen our doors, inviting you to experience our newly transformed Gastro Pub.

We are extremely proud of the levels of service and food from the kitchen and front of house teams.

We welcome you seven days a week to indulge in our diverse menu, featuring daily specials alongside a tempting ‘light bite’ selection, at a competitive price, available Monday to Saturday from 12-4 pm. Breakfast and morning coffee

On Sundays, continue the tradition of hearty dining with our tantalizing Roast Specials, including succulent Sirloin of Beef, flavorful Leg of Lamb, and the ever-popular Traditional Turkey and Ham, prepared just the way you prefer.

Our Copeland function suite awaits, catering for various group bookings from corporate gatherings, charitable events to private family bereavement occasions.
