About

Discover the real Belfast – one bite at a time on Belfast Food Tour.
Caroline is passionate about Northern Irish food and about Belfast. She wants visitors to understand more about both. Her tours take you down quiet streets and into hidden corners – as Caroline puts it, “off the eaten track of Belfast city” - to meet inventive locals making world-beating products.

These producers, “the passion behind the plates”, have an infectious love for their food and drink and are happy to share it, to talk about it and show you how to taste it. This is a great way to discover the true spirit of the people of this city (a “little key to unlock the real Belfast”) through their love of good food – which, of course, you will be sampling plenty of. There’s no need for breakfast, or lunch; you’ll be eating and drinking more than 25 samples of the best local food and drink along the way. And whether you’re sweet-toothed or savour the savoury, this tour has you covered.

With passionate local foodie guides, the action begins in the historic, atmospheric St George’s Market, a hive of activity where you meet producers, try a Northern Irish breakfast and drink a Belfast brew. You’ll call in to a traditional bar full of craft ales and delectable spirits such as Jawbox Gin from Echlinville Distillery. You’ll visit a cheese shop to try – and smell - the best blue cheese in Ireland, and imbibe one of the top 10 hot chocolates in the world (and maybe a brownie, too), in an underground chocolatier’s. You’ll also visit in a restaurant in the bustling Cathedral Quarter.

The pace here is relaxed, allowing participants to indulge the senses in their own time. And you might just pick up some useful new skills (how about adding whiskey taster extraordinaire to your resumé?), or some great new friends, along the way. With its blend of great food, great people, great stories and great craic, it’s clear to see why Taste and Tour has been named Northern Ireland’s best small visitor attraction.
