Historic Downpatrick 2 miles from the cottage. Town offers St. Patrick's Centre, Down County Museum, Art Centre, Down Cathederal with St. Patrick's grave, restaurants, leisure centre, cinema, Funky Monkeys children's play and lovely walks along the Quoile river to Quoile Countryside centre.
Tyrella Blue flag beach only 5 miles from cottage with beautiful shore line and fishing villages. National trust property at Castleward is a must to visit and close by the picturesque village of Strangford. Car ferry available here giving access to the Ards Peninsula and the Aquarium in Portaferry. Several outdoor centres including variety of water sports and Mountain activities. Forest parks at Castlewellan and Tollymore. So much to do and so much to see all within a 10 mile range of Buttermilk Cottage.
