Ingredients: 

  • 740g / 1.6lb soda bread flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pint buttermilk
  • pinch of salt
  • Abernethy butter to serve 

Method: 

  • Pre heat oven to 180 °C.
  • Combine all ingredients and mould it into a large circle
  • Place in oven and cook for thirty minutes
  • Serve with a generous amount of Abernethy butter
