Mourne Chamber Music Festival

About

The upcoming Mourne Chamber Music Festival is a fresh addition to the classical music scene in Newcastle County Down this August. Over the course of three days, the festival will showcase the talents of 16 young musicians from Northern Ireland and beyond, as they perform chamber music by various composers in the picturesque Newcastle Community Cinema.

Chamber Music, a genre of classical music designed for small ensembles, typically consists of two to eight players, a size historically suited for palace chamber performances. The most popular form is the string quartet, featuring two violins, one viola, and one cello.

Whether you are a seasoned concert attendee or a newcomer to classical music, our diverse programme offers something for everyone. Embark on a memorable musical journey with us.
